Guilford Young Grove was the first aged care facility to be built by Southern Cross Care (Tas) Inc. Residents and staff are proud to be associated with the Board's "mother ship". Opening in 1975. It is built on an elevated position overlooking the river Derwent, with many rooms having magnificent views of the Casino and the Tasman Bridge. Manicured gardens surround the site. The facility has a friendly, homely atmosphere. It has been kept up to date with ongoing improvements. The last major one being an upgrade to meet contemporary fire safety standards. A three year accreditation was gained in 2003. A progressive Diversional Therapy program operates seven days a week, to assist in meeting the social and leisure aspects of the residents lives. Pastoral Care and Catholic and Anglican Church services are conducted regularly in the Chapel for residence of the facilities. |
